We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Engineer in NetApp storage solutions to join our team of support engineers. The Senior Engineer will serve as subject matter expert (SME) and the go-to authority for all aspects of NetApp technologies, providing technical leadership, strategic guidance, and hands-on expertise to drive the success of the team. You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and troubleshooting complex issues across multiple customers in alignment with organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert-level remote technical support for NetApp ONTAP, E-Series, and StorageGRID technologies across multiple customers.
Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues related to NetApp systems.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, best practices, and standard operating procedures.
Mentor and train other support engineers in the team, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Stay current with the latest NetApp technologies, best practices, and certifications.
Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical issues.
Contribute to monitoring of team metrics and KPIs, ensuring the health and success of the service.
Collaborate with other cross-functional teams as necessary to provide excellent customer support.
Act as a liaison between technical teams, management, and vendors, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
Support pre-sales or business development efforts by providing technical expertise and service design recommendations.
On call support for client escalated issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 10-15 years of hands-on experience with NetApp storage solutions.
Proven track record in designing and managing enterprise storage environments.
Expert knowledge of NetApp ONTAP hardware, software, and associated features (e.g., Snapshot, SnapVault, FlexClone, SnapMirror).
Proficiency in SAN/NAS protocols, including iSCSI, FC, NFS, and SMB.
Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and NetApp s cloud services (e.g., Cloud Volumes ONTAP).
Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical and performance issues in storage in storage environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent documentation and presentation abilities.
Certifications
NetApp certifications such as NCDA (NetApp Certified Data Administrator) Support Engineer Specialist or NCIE (NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer) are highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
Experience with other storage vendors (e.g., Pure Storage, Dell EMC, HPE) is a plus.
Knowledge of virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and their integration with storage systems.
Familiarity with automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
