The Responsibilities of the Telephone Operator include the following:

1. Ensure prompt and correct tele-accessibility to the customers and handling all the in-coming and out-going calls through the telephone board / console.

2. Pick up the calls within 2 rings

3. To check the telephone log book

4. To be polite and courteous on the phone.

5. Inform the caller of non-availability of the concerned person if he / she is not available instead of keeping the call on hold for a long time.

6. To connect the outgoing calls whenever asked by the Doctors / Staffs in case of emergency

7. Responsible for the smooth and efficient functioning of the section.

8. Follow the Departmental Protocols / Procedures

9. Any other work assigned by the superiors from time to time.
