Roles and Responsibilities

- Owner of AWS production system environment comprising of Compute, network and storage
resources.

- Planning, implementing, troubleshooting HA, fault-tolerant applications on AWS

- Planning, implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting backup & disaster recovery policies on
AWS.

- Estimating AWS usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms.

- Planning, implementing, troubleshooting security and IPSec VPN tunnels to customers.

- Lead in and systems, network, storage capacity planning.

- Lead technology life-cycle projects including technology evaluation, selection, implementation,
support and retirement/replacement

- Develop standards for server technology deployment

- Coordinate with other departments - engineering, support, operations to ensure smooth
business continuity.

- Monitoring of UNIX (Linux / Ubuntu) servers continuously and resolving the system related
issues.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex systems hardware and software/application issues.

- Analyze and diagnose system failures recover and restore operating systems and file systems.

- Monitor system availability, load, and system capacity.

- Shell Scripting for automation of administrative tasks ( backups, disaster recovery, monitoring
and reporting/notifications)

- Overall Linux administration ( Amazon Linux, CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu ).

Desired Candidate Profile

Hands-on experience operating AWS based applications.

- Hands-on experience working with AWS services - EC2, VPC, RDS, ELB, S3, SES, Cloudwatch (
should have complete understanding of security groups, routing tables, ENI, etc.)

- Should be well versed with concepts, application, use-cases of cloud computing, virtualization

- Linux/Unix, Package/Software management, Shell scripting (Bash), access control
management, System monitoring tools e.g. Netstat, Top, VM Stat.

- Hands-on experience on ansible.

- Intermediate level experience on scripting using python.

- Understanding of application deployment patterns and best practice DevOps with CI/CD

- Web Application Management: LAMP based applications, Apache Tomcat, memchache

- MySQL database administration skills

- Experience in network monitoring tools like zabbix, nagios, etc.

- Security: iptables, SSH, SSL, public key authentication

- Data Center exposure - Network, Servers, Storage

- Possess good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP

- Deep knowledge of Linux across multiple distributions, including performance
management/tuning.

Experience: Min. 4-5 Years and at least 2 years on AWS.
