Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Techno-Functional Project Manager with a strong background in the aviation industry. This role requires over 10 years of expertise in managing complex projects that integrate both technical and functional aspects. The ideal candidate will be adept at collaborating with various stakeholders, optimizing operational processes and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position demands strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of aviation industry standards and proficiency in project management and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Lead and manage end-to-end project lifecycles for aviation-related projects, including planning, execution, monitoring and closure.
Oversee multiple IT projects, including cloud-based solutions, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline and budget requirements.
Implement Agile methodologies to enhance team collaboration and project efficiency.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Technical and Functional Expertise:
Act as the liaison between technical teams (software developers, engineers) and functional teams (operations, business units) to ensure alignment with project goals.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and oversee the development and integration of technical solutions.
Provide financial insights and decision support, leading budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning activities.
Operational Optimization:
Collaborate with department heads to analyze and optimize operational processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Identify and mitigate risks in airport operations and customer services, leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Monitor and maintain on-time performance metrics, ensuring high standards of safety and service.
Stakeholder and Vendor Management:
Engage with stakeholders, including clients, vendors and internal teams, to gather requirements, set expectations and provide regular updates.
Negotiate, draft and manage contracts with vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies and goals.
Performance Reporting and Analytics:
Develop and present performance reports, establishing and tracking key KPIs for business and financial metrics.
Manage and lead a team of professionals in delivering data and analytics projects on time and within budget.
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring effective collaboration and productivity.
Conduct regular training sessions, manage employee feedback processes and foster a supportive work environment.
Coordinate with other project managers and departments to align strategies and ensure resource availability.
Strategic Planning and Compliance:
Develop and execute strategic plans, maintaining oversight of budgets and resource headcount requirements.
Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, including emergency response procedures.
Monitor market trends and customer demand, adjusting strategies to maintain competitiveness.
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain open lines of communication and foster cross-departmental collaboration through regular meetings and team-building activities.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of project management experience, with a significant portion in the aviation industry.
Skills:
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects with a techno-functional approach.
Strong understanding of aviation industry standards, regulations and best practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana).
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification preferred.
