Position Overview:As an Embedded Systems QA Engineer at L4B Software, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our embedded systems

Leveraging over 5 years of experience, you will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, identifying and resolving defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance and scalable embedded solutions

At L4B Software you will:

Test Planning and Execution: Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases tailored for embedded systems, including functional, integration, system performance, and regression testing

Embedded Systems Testing: Conduct rigorous testing of embedded systems, focusing on firmware, device drivers, and system-level applications to ensure comprehensive coverage and high-quality outcomes

Automation and Scripting: Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using languages such as Python, Bash, or Perl to enhance testing efficiency and coverage

CI/CD Integration: Integrate testing processes within Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate testing, streamline development workflows, and ensure consistent quality throughout the software development lifecycle

Bug Identification and Reporting: Systematically identify, document, and track defects and issues found during testing

Collaborate with development teams to facilitate swift resolution and retesting

Hardware-Software Integration: Work closely with hardware engineers to validate and test hardware-software interactions, including Board Support Packages (BSP) and device drivers, ensuring seamless integration

Performance and Reliability Testing: Execute performance and stress tests to evaluate system reliability, scalability, and robustness under various conditions and workloads

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing processes

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and organized documentation of test plans, test cases, test results, and defect reports

Provide clear and actionable insights and reports to stakeholders

Collaboration: Engage with cross-functional teams including software developers, hardware engineers, and product managers to ensure comprehensive testing coverage and successful project execution

Requirements

What you will bring:

Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA testing for embedded systems, with a strong background in embedded C/C++ development and hardware-software integration

Technical Skills:

Expertise in testing embedded systems, including firmware, device drivers, and hardware-software interactions

Proficiency with test automation tools and scripting languages (e g

, Python, Bash)

Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and tools

Familiarity with version control systems (e g

, Git)

Knowledge of Board Support Packages (BSP) and embedded Linux environments (Yocto, Buildroot) is advantageous
