Role Summary
Cloud Optix delivers the continuous analysis and visibility organizations need to detect, respond, and prevent security and compliance gaps while finding ways to optimize cloud spend. The Sophos Cloud Security Posture Management tool provides a single view of security posture across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code environments.
It also provides an opportunity to any software engineer who wants to tackle truly challenging problems in building high scale distributed system and build cloud security platform.
As a member of the Sophos Public Cloud development team, you ll work closely with software engineers, architects, product management and others to design and scalable services and architecture and quickly bring public cloud security and compliance new features to market. As part of an agile scrum team, you will design develop platform features and promote best practices for the continuously evolving Cloud security platform. You will work with other Sophos product development teams to understand and build features that leverage their feature set to enhance the security posture and provide a unified approach to cloud platforms.
We are looking for a skilled Java App Developer who will be responsible for managing the interchange of data between the server and the users/resources. The primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, and policy and compliance engine, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end while managing and collecting data from remote nodes at scale. The Java Developer will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements (build by the team) into the application.
What you will do
Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
Develop, Code or modify, test, and debug application programs of varying degree of complexity
Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
Implementation of security and data protection
Integration of data storage solution
What you will bring
2-4 years of total working experience
Expert in Java, with knowledge of Spring boot and Hibernate framework.
Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL/MySQL/Oracle
Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
Strong unit test and debugging skills
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
Understand lean approach with frequent releases and focused on getting MVPs into market as early as possible to increase feedback
Passion for fast-paced and iterative software development
Fast learner and open to working with new libraries/platforms
