1.Strategic Leadership:

1.Develop and execute a strategic vision for the Platform Engineering team, aligned with the organization's overall technology and business objectives.

2.Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies and industry best practices in platform engineering.

2.Team Management:

1.Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of platform engineers, architects, and DevOps professionals.

2.Foster a collaborative and agile team culture, emphasizing continuous improvement and learning.

3.Platform Design and Development:

1.Oversee the design and development of scalable and resilient platforms, ensuring they meet performance, security, and reliability requirements.

2.Drive the adoption of best practices in infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management.

4.Cloud Technologies:

1.Stay current with the latest cloud technologies, particularly in platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

2.Provide expertise in cloud architecture and guide the team in optimizing platform performance in the cloud.

5.DevOps and Automation:

1.Champion DevOps practices to streamline the software development lifecycle.

2.Implement and enhance automation processes for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of platform services.

6.Collaboration with Other Teams:

1.Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to platform engineering.

2.Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, communicating platform-related concepts effectively.

7.Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

1.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for platforms, taking proactive measures to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.

2.Conduct regular reviews of platform architecture and recommend improvements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

Proven experience (20+ years) in a leadership role within a platform engineering or similar environment.

In-depth knowledge of platform technologies, cloud architecture, and DevOps practices.

Strong understanding of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements:

Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
