This is a senior-level position that involves managing and supporting the cloud infrastructure for our customer(s). You will be typically involving a high level of technical expertise and experience in managing cloud-based systems and infrastructure. Primary role will be to provide expert technical support and guidance to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of cloud infrastructure and services hosted on the cloud .
You will be responsible for ensuring that cloud environment is reliable, scalable, and secure. You will also work closely with other teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure that all applications and services are operating at peak performance. This role is a critical position that requires a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and services.
You will need to be able to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly, automate processes, and ensure that the cloud infrastructure is secure and highly available. You would be expected to have a deep understanding of Cloud services, architecture, and deployment methodologies, as well as a strong grasp of DevOps best practices.
You will be required to work in 24x7 environment to ensure service availability to our customers cloud and IT infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities:
Design and implementation of cloud solutions: You should have experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. This includes designing and implementing secure cloud architectures, managing cloud resources, and implementing best practices for availability, scalability, and cost optimization.
Providing Technical Expertise: You will be responsible for providing technical expertise to resolve complex issues related to cloud services. This includes troubleshooting, identifying the root cause, and implementing solutions. Stay up-to-date with new cloud services and features, and recommend changes to our infrastructure to take advantage of new opportunities.
Automation: Developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to optimize and streamline cloud operations. You will be responsible for automating processes related to cloud infrastructure management, deployment, and monitoring. This includes developing scripts, templates, and tools to automate manual processes and ensure consistency. The engineer should have experience in automating tasks using cloud automation tools
Infrastructure Management: Managing the cloud infrastructure of the organization and ensuring its smooth functioning. This includes monitoring and troubleshooting issues related to computing, storage, and networking components. Work with the Cloud Operations L1 and L2 teams to ensure seamless operation of the cloud environment. You will me supporting major incidents, complex changes, and root cause investigation of problems
Network Management: Design and implement, manage cloud network services, hybrid network (site-to-site VPN), DHCP services. You will manage network configuration and trouble network related issues
Security Management: Ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure and applications. This includes implementing security best practices, monitoring security events, and responding to security incidents. You should have expertise in implementing and managing security measures in cloud, including implementing security policies, conducting security audits, and managing access control. Ensure compliance with security policies and standards and implement security controls for cloud infrastructure and services.
Monitoring and Optimization: You will be responsible for monitoring the cloud infrastructure and ensuring optimal performance. This includes identifying and resolving issues related to system capacity, utilization, and security. You will be responsible for monitoring the cloud infrastructure and resolving any issues that arise. You should be proficient in using cloud tools for monitoring and logging, and be able to troubleshoot and diagnose issues quickly
Capacity Planning: Proactively identifying capacity needs and planning for infrastructure upgrades or adjustments. Manage and maintain cloud-based infrastructure and services
Backup and Recovery: Developing and implementing backup and recovery procedures to ensure business continuity in case of disaster or system failure
Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives. You should be able to work collaboratively with other teams, including development teams, to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the organization. Interlock with nearshore and offshore teams to fully understand latest advancements, Managed Cloud operating models and value proposition. Provide guidance and support to other members of the Cloud Operations team, including mentoring and coaching.
Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: You will be responsible for documenting procedures and sharing knowledge with other team members. This includes creating technical documentation, conducting training sessions, and providing guidance on best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve cloud operations processes and implementing changes to increase efficiency, scalability, and reliability. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in cloud infrastructure and processes. This includes proposing and implementing changes to optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Vendor Management: You will be responsible for managing relationships with cloud vendors and ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs) and contractual obligations.
Reporting: You must maintain detailed documentation of the cloud infrastructure and report on its performance and availability to stakeholders
This is a customer-facing role and is ideal for an excellent communicator with a positive outlook and having problem solving mindset. You should be ready to work in customer time zone and during off business hours to manage operations.
Work experience:
Ideally, you should have 5+ years of relevant experience in large-scale Cloud operations, having a minimum 12 years of industry experience
Technical skills: The cloud SME should have strong technical skills and expertise in cloud computing and related technologies
Experience on managing large scale environment running on Cloud
Ability to lead troubleshooting for issues both known and unknown across domain. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
Proven ability to provide technical recommendations to solve short- and long-term issues
Proficient in configuring and using monitoring tools. You should be able to proactively monitor and analyze cloud infrastructure performance and troubleshoot issues.
Experience with one or more infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
Familiarity with DevOps tools and methodologies like Git, Jenkins, Ansible, and Docker, and experience implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Network experience with switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancer
proficient in designing and implementing disaster recovery solutions like Multi-AZ, Cross-Region Replication, Backup and Restore, etc. You should be able to ensure high availability and recoverability of cloud infrastructure in the event of a disaster
