As a Public Cloud Consultant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our research lab by providing expert guidance and solutions for leveraging public cloud platforms in research projects and initiatives. You will collaborate closely with researchers and other stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize cloud-based infrastructure and services that enable cutting-edge research and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures tailored to the unique needs of research applications and workflows.
Lead the migration of research workloads, datasets, and applications to public cloud platforms, ensuring seamless integration and maximum performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop custom solutions and tools for data management, analysis, and visualization in the cloud.
Provide technical guidance and support to researchers on cloud computing best practices, tools, and services.
Conduct performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of cloud-based systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies, research trends, and best practices, and identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
Contribute to the development of research proposals, grant applications, and publications related to cloud computing and research infrastructure.
Skills Required
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of relevant experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions, preferably in a research or academic environment.
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies, with hands-on experience in public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Familiarity with scientific computing environments, tools, and workflows commonly used in research labs (e.g., HPC, data analytics, machine learning).
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform) is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, scientists, and technical teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving research requirements and priorities.
Passion for driving scientific discovery and innovation using cloud computing technologies.
