Role Summary:

Position Title

Senior Test Engineer

Role Summary:

A Senior Test Engineer- mid level role and shall be responsible for identification of Functional Tests and Manual execution of test cases.

1. Coordinate testing with the vendor Onshore QA Team. Escalate issues when necessary.


2. Interact with key stakeholders from various areas of the business (e.g. Front Office, Back Office, Middle Office, Sec Lending, FX, and BPP) to analyze requirements and produce test plans.


3. Knowledge and Hands On experience with Corporate Actions, SWIFT Messages, Standards and BaNCS.


4. Must be able to meet deadlines and be flexible to manage changing priorities. Must be able to work in high-pressured environment. Team player - willing and able to drive collaborative efforts across the QA organization to improve product quality.


5. Willing to support over the weekend / extra efforts to complete testing deliverables as and when needed.


6. Coach, lead and mentor other team members. Participate in knowledge transfer with the team and business units. Create, review and approve test plans, requirements traceability matrix, test scenarios, test summary reports, scripts or procedures such as database impacts, software scenarios or usability.


7. Work closely with product owners, BA, development, offshore and onshore QA teams in gathering, reviewing and clarifying business requirements and functionality, BRD, Release Notes and Impact documents.


8. Estimate Test Design and Test Execution efforts, assign Complexity and Priority to test cases.


9. Analyze project release problems and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and prevent future production incidents.


10. Enforces code branching for the releases.


11. Be a gatekeeper of Test Environments (QA & UAT1) and control what versions and when are being deployed to these environments.


12. Propose Hardware & Software upgrades for QA Tools or necessary improvement methods.


13. Identify opportunities to enhance testing efficiency and automation.


14. Create SQL queries and utilize SQL Server Management Studio; MS SQL 2008 and 2012 environments. Oracle 11G


15. Performs all functions as assigned by management


16. Experience on Cloud Based Testing


17. Should be able to understand FT test objectives as documented in Test Plan


18. Under Supervision, should be able to prepare Functional Test Cases, Test data for the given test objectives


19. Execute tests for a given module/ component / focus area


20. Detect defects, document detailed defect reports and track the inconsistencies


21. Executing regression tests for a given module/ component / focus area


22. Provide support and documentation

Technical Requirements

1. Working knowledge of Operating Systems


2. Basic understanding of Databases, Networking and Cloud computing


3. Basic understanding of Software development life cycles and Software Test life cycles


4. Awareness of Technology trends & Domain areas

Prerequisites:

1. Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, business or related field


2. 5 - 8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, software testing and test automation


3. Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance standards and methodology


4. Experience in leading/coordinating work with the onshore team


5. Experience working in a rapidly changing and fast paced business environment.

SKILLS

1. Strong Experience on the Capital Markets with specific focus on the experience in Security Lending, Corporate Actions, SWIFT Messages and Money Market Instruments
   
   
   
   
   1. Knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity markets. FI: US treasury and government agency, major European bonds, corporate bonds, and supranational bonds. Equities: US, major European and Asian stocks.
   
   
   
   


2. Demonstrated proficiency with Structured Query Language (SQL) required


3. Proficient in data manipulation, Cloud Based Testing and back-end testing


4. Ability to work with and manipulate large data files (e.g. using Excel, Access, etc.)


5. Able to extract & deploy releases from TFS and Jenkins to test environments, restart jobs or services.

NICE TO HAVE REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

1. Experience using one or more languages such as Python, Java, VB, C, C++


2. Able to read and analyze code for potential bugs


3. Industry-recognized certification in the areas of Quality Assurance and testing (e.g., ISTQB / CSTE, CS Quality Assurance, and CQE) helpful
