Global Record to Report organization is part of the Global Controllership organization and is responsible for end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting quality and assurance and US regulatory reporting. The US Regulatory reporting team is responsible for managing and delivering key regulatory reporting filings for American Express.
This individual will be responsible for helping implement a comprehensive Change Management framework through close partnership across Controllership and multiple other groups within American Express.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Support design, governance, and establishment of the Change Management Group
Collaborating with colleagues across groups within American Express to create a comprehensive Change Management framework.
Formalization of Change Management framework for both for internal and external changes, inclusive of continuous monitoring.
Assist in developing policy, governance, and process to monitor and perform applicability and impact assessments, implementation, and validation of regulatory changes.
Work closely, coordinate, and collaborate with various Subject Matter Experts and Regulatory Reporting leaders in the review of change impact to regulatory reports.
Assist in formulating responses to inquiries from the Federal Reserve and key internal stakeholders, while supporting our strong working relationships and communication with the various regulators.
Support/lead special projects including partnering with American Express Technologies on key automation initiatives and enhancing policies and procedures around the regulatory reporting process.
Provide leadership to Financial Analysts in the Regulatory Reporting team
Flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated environment.
Strong understanding of U.S. Regulatory and U.S. GAAP requirements.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, drive projects, and work well under tight deadlines.
Strong written/oral communication, relationship building, presentation and collaboration skills.
Proven ability to effectively interact with all levels and stakeholders of an organization including senior leadership/officers, as well as with external regulators and auditors.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Accounting / Reporting / Auditing.
Prior Regulatory/Federal Reserve/SEC/External Reporting and banking/financial services experience strongly preferred.
Prior experience assisting with preparation of Regulatory Reports required by FRB is a plus.
Graduate degree, CPA/Chartered Accountant, or similar qualification, preferred.
