Job Title: E-Commerce Solution Architect Location: Remote Department: Digital Commerce Employment Type: Part Time / Consulting Job Overview: Experienced E-Commerce Solution Architect with a proven track record of implementing unified commerce solutions, preferably for large retail brands such as Under Armor, Nike, Walmart, etc. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture and integration of omnichannel e-commerce platforms, ensuring seamless customer experiences across digital and physical touchpoints. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, scalability, and performance in our e-commerce initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Lead Unified Commerce Initiatives: Architect and design unified commerce solutions that align digital and in-store customer journeys, integrating sales, inventory, and fulfillment systems for a seamless omnichannel experience. E-Commerce Platform Strategy: Define and implement e-commerce architecture, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability of platforms, incorporating best practices gained from past implementations, including experience with unified commerce solutions. Cross-Platform Integration: Develop and integrate key platforms (e-commerce, ERP, CRM, POS, and third-party solutions) for unified commerce, driving personalized customer experiences. Technology Roadmap: Lead the development of the e-commerce technology roadmap, assessing current infrastructure and recommending new solutions and technologies for optimizing the customer experience. Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (development, UX/UI, business, operations) and external vendors to ensure successful implementation of the e-commerce and unified commerce ecosystem. Architectural Governance: Provide technical leadership in maintaining the architectural integrity of the e-commerce platforms, ensuring compliance with security and performance standards. Performance Monitoring: Define KPIs for platform performance and optimization, working closely with DevOps to continuously improve site speed, reliability, and scalability. Required Qualifications: Bachelor s/Master s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. 5+ years of experience in solution architecture for large-scale e-commerce systems, with a strong focus on unified commerce. Proven track record in implementing unified commerce platforms, with direct experience working on projects at Under Armor or similar large retail brands. Expertise in e-commerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento, SAP Commerce (Hybris), commercetools, or similar. Experience with omnichannel retail technologies, including POS systems, order management systems (OMS), and inventory management. Knowledge of APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Strong understanding of front-end and back-end technologies, including JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular), database systems (SQL, NoSQL), and DevOps practices. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
