In your role as Manager for the DevOps team, you will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and growing a team who are involved in selecting and implementing tools and processes that enable development of scalable and reliable applications. Your teams mission is to embrace continuous integration/deployment in a delivery pipeline that will perform automated quality checks, deploy cloud infrastructure and applications quickly, and provide operational observability / metrics that can be consumed by development teams. You will bring a blend of Management and technical expertise to lead the DevOps organization.
Key Leadership Responsibilities:
Managing Cloud Infrastructure and SRE team in the development and maintenance of reliable infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
Identify and proactively recommend continuous improvements on DevOps services provided.
Standardize and train members across product teams on relevant DevOps processes and tasks.
Lead platform engineers to enable productivity and efficiency in the DevOps tools.
Create and own an Observability Platform to proactively track and support application health.
Continuously learn and explore new tools, techniques, and methodologies to drive innovation and enhance the DevOps platform.
Maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and technical guidelines.
Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status, metrics, and achievements to stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at various levels, including executive management, project managers, and product owners.
Understand their needs and priorities, and effectively communicate the value and impact of DevOps initiatives.
Mentor and share knowledge with junior team members and across the Allegion IT teams. Experience in Agile software development and DevSecOps practices.
Act as a thought leader within Allegion for DevOps practices.
Experience updating and deploying environments through Infrastructure as Code scripts.
Responsible for people leadership of DevOps team – hiring, managing performance objectives, providing regular feedback, handling performance assessment, managing career growth, mentoring, employee engagement etc..
Key skills:
10+ years of DevOps experience with software configuration management and release engineering.
Good understanding of virtualization and container technologies (Docker, EKS/AKS/Kubernetes, etc.)
Very proficient with designing and implementing cloud solutions in Azure, AWS Cloud technology implementations and management platforms.
Experience with tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, Artifactor, and other similar tooling
Experience with Automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.)
Exposed to deploying canaries for testing and conducting security checks in CI/CD pipelines Proficient in configuration management tools like Ansible and infrastructure-as-code frameworks such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Sentry.io, CloudWatch, etc.) for proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting.
Experience hiring, Mentoring, and leading DevSecOps, SRE and Platform engineers.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a highly complex & matrixed organization, delivering medium to large-sized projects and initiatives.
Have a passion for technology and a willingness to explore and adopt emerging technologies for practical business purposes.
