The scope of this job is Oracle database administration, which is responsible for the installation, testing, configuration, trouble shooting and maintenance of Oracle & Oracle Apps of versions 12c and above . Additionally, resource will assist for disaster recovery (DR) designing, planning, implementation processes. Establishes and documents standards and procedures for management review. The candidate should have been able to create, implement or recommend process refinement opportunities, making the database administration support model more efficient. The candidate must also be able to recognize automation opportunities as well that will reduce the amount of hands on support. The ability to follow instructions both written and verbal is paramount as well as the ability to multi-task. Strong verbal skills are a must. Flexible work schedule is a must. Occasional travel is required.
Oracle DBA Job responsibilities:
Strong in database operations with technical mentoring, consulting and client servicing.
Database operations:
Provide enterprise-wide Oracle Database Administration support for complex Oracle database systems on Conventional Database systems, Oracle Database Appliances, Oracle ExaData etc.
Provide DBA support with a high degree of customer service and technical expertise.
Provide accurate and creative solutions to database problems to ensure business continuity and end-user productivity.
Provide DBA services to application development teams, including database design, generation, coding, SQL tuning and troubleshooting support.
Create database-related scripts and programs to support development, test and production environments.
Monitor and optimize the performance of the databases, plan for backup and recovery, proactively allocate system storage and plan for future storage needs.
Collaborate with Information Security team to ensure our databases are kept secure by enforcing the security policies and practicing minimal permissions policy wherever possible.
Participate in the design, testing and communication of a disaster recovery plan.
Stay current with the latest database technologies and trends. Plan for the required patching and version upgrade activities.
Participate in the on-call rotation, providing incident support and scheduled out-of-hours work.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of company business processes and the data they create and require, acting as a technical resource when needed.
Experience with Oracle Performance Tuning and Optimization, RMAN Backup & Recovery.
Experience in installing & managing RAC and Golden Gate environments.
Experience with Oracle Databases hosted on OCI, AWS & Azure Cloud.
Experience with High Availability and Disaster Recovery options for Oracle Databases.
Experience with Linux servers and Active Directory.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a team player attitude.
Good time-management and communication skills, both written and oral.
Sense of accountability and utilizing independent judgement.
Good conceptual understanding and experience on storage for SAN and NAS.
Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills to understand and anticipate the impact and opportunities across multiple projects.
Experience in both Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems. Candidate should be able to manage backup environments with heterogeneous operating systems.
Instruct/guide/collaborate with OIC DBAs and get the job done by raising SR and RFC using Oracle Support
Implement, enforce, and adhere to Disaster Recovery plan for Oracle Databases and Unix/Linux Servers
Good Knowledge of Shell and PL/SQL scripting
Ability to perform DB/Application Clone, DB/Application Refresh, backup and recovery
Troubleshooting and resolving application server and database issues
Plan, enhance and execute database monitoring and alerts
Deploy custom code and setup changes to Test and Production aligning to Change Management Process
Knowledgeable with various flavors of Unix/Linux administration, shell/Perl scripting, RAC, AD Tools, and configuration and applications in a load balanced environment.
Ability to perform health check of application, database, concurrent managers, workflow mailer, and long running jobs daily.
Ability to perform system audit.

Education and experience:
A relevant B.E./AMIE/IETE (Electronics/Electronics communication, Computer science); previous experience in IT may also qualify
8+ years Oracle DBA experience on installation, testing, commissioning, and trouble shooting on production and development servers
